Tomato Chutney


This tomato chutney goes well dosa, idli. Use as a spread with some cheese to make spicy tomato cheese sandwich. Even can be added to curries to enhance taste and just spread on chapati/roti and roll to make out instant snack, many more.

My mother makes various kinds of delicious chutneys, here is tomato chutney. Super simple and easy to make. This chutney is spicy as everyone in my family like spicy chutneys, you can reduce/ increase number of chilies as per your taste.

Time: 5 minutes
Serve: 2 cups

Ingredients:

3 medium tomatoes(roughly chopped)
1 medium onion(roughly chopped)
6-7 long green chilies(remove seeds)
3-4 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tbsp Olive oil
salt to taste 



Method:

1. Heat oil in a wide skillet and add the green chilies. Roast chilies on medium heat,
 stirring occasionally till it turns golden brown on sides . Keep aside. 

2. Add chopped onions in same pan. Roast onion till soft and turning golden brown. Keep aside. In same pan add tomatoes, cook till almost all water evaporates.

3. Once tomatoes onions and chilies cooled, put them in a blender. Add minced garlic and season with little salt.

4. Grind to a slightly coarse paste.

5. Serve with dosa, idli, use as spread.
