Methi Shankarpali

Methi Shankarpale is a savory and crunchy tea time snacks which can be prepared quickly and really easy to make. It is made from dried fenugreek leaves and all purpose flour.




Time: 30 minutes + 10 minutes resting time
Yeild: 4-5 people

Ingredients:

2 cups All Purpose Flour(Maida)

2 tbsp Dry Kasuri Methi (crushed)
tbsp Red Chilli Powder(to taste)
tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
tsp Ajwain Seeds
2 tbsp Oil
1/4 cup water
Salt to taste
                                  


Method:

1. In a deep bowl, add flour, turmeric, chilli powder, ajwain, cumin seeds, crushed kasuri methi and salt. Mix well.

2. Heat oil and pour it over the mixed flour. Mix oil nicely into all purpose flour.


3. Knead into stiff dough while adding water little at a time. Keep aside covered for 10 minutes.

4. Divide the dough into small dough balls (approximately 4).

5. Now roll dough ball into chapati/roti.

6. Now cut this round roti into diamond shapes or desired shape using pizza cutter or knife.


                              


7. Heat oil in a deep vessel and fry the diamond shaped shankarpale on medium heat till golden brown and crispy.

8. Cool completely.
 Serve with a cup of tea!.

9. Store it in air tight container.
